Northharvest is the name with which the farmers are marketing their farm produce. It is a self help group of "Karsog valley farmers' group" a non governmental organization working for the development of farmers. Our main objective is to bringing farmers together

MISSION
To convert conventional farming into high tech. Farming by introduction of modern techniques and reduction of chemical fertilizers and pesticides and improving post harvest handling

How it came into existence

Rajani Rawat, had been associated with social works since 1996, when guided some farmers in Seri Bunglow for cultivation of Gladiolus and off season Vegetables. She was the first lady to form SHG at Nirmond block in village tikkeri P.O. Arsoo in year 2000.She formed 9 groups, without being associated with any organization, just fascinated by the results of SHGs in rural areas, she had seen in Chinmaya Tapowan Trust. She was supported by her family and friends in her social accomplishments. She purchased land for high tech apple farming in Nov,2002. Established clonal rootstock Nursery in May,8,2003. Since that day she has been living in her Farm in interior part of Mandi District and organizing camps on apple farming every year with the support of Rajesh Thakur ,her brother and John M Aselage, consultant for kalasan nursery farm, on apple cultivation. On April,29,2006,when some friends and relatives gathered at her farm, They discussed in details the miserable conditions of the farmers .A decision was taken to support her social work by all like minded friends-hence Karsog Valley Farmers Group came into existence with initial objective to organise camps to educate farmers to adopt modern techniques of farming.

To import ,develop and propagate better varieties of fruits, flower and vegetables and rootstocks and ensure the availability of the same to growers.

To impart training and orientation programs for cultivation of vegetables, aromatic plants, horticulture crops and food processing .

To take up the issues and problems of growers with the government of India and state government at various levels.

To make people aware of the importance of the forest, hence promote plantation of environmental friendly trees , promotion of water harvesting through check dams, kufers and collection of water from roofs.

To reduce the use of insecticides, pesticides to its minimum .

To make people aware of dangers of chemical fertilizers and benefits of organic manures, hence promote organic farming.

To make self help groups

To work for the social awakening.
